    iTech adds a seamless Claim Status Inquiry feature to its expEDIum Product Suite

    CAQH® 2019 Index states that “Medical plan adoption of electronic claim submissions is at 96 percent, adoption of claim status inquiry is at 70 percent & adoption of eligibility and benefit verification is at 84%”. To handle aged and denied claim, billers must know the claims' status by making AR calls to various payers which is time-consuming and expensive for the clinics. Now in expEDIum, the new claim status inquiry feature creates a seamless process to pull several aged, denied claims, initiate inquiries, and use the system to follow up on such claims effectively thus saving accounts receivables cost. expEDIum already supports seamless Insurance Eligibility Verifications (IEV). expEDIum Product suite does not support prior authorization as the industry adoption of standardized, electronic Prior authorization remains low relative to other HIPAA mandated electronic transactions.

    There is a per transaction fee that applies to both Claim Status Inquiries and Insurance Eligibility Verifications when performed from expEDIum suite of products.

    Most of the ePCR solutions are likely to support NEMSIS data format as they are expected to share EMS data to National EMS database in this format.     iTech’s expEDIum Solutions Provide Smooth ICD-10 Transition

    iTech, a leading SaaS based Healthcare Billing and Practice Management Solution vendor has successfully completed a month of ICD-10 transition. iTech's Cloud based solutions expEDIum Medical Billing and expEDIum Claims Portal have successfully processed over 40K ICD-10 claims with total charges exceeding $5 million since 1st October and over 10K claims have been paid so far with total payment exceeding $1 million, the remaining claims are accepted by the payers and they are in various stages of adjudication.

    iTech clients and partners are happy with this smooth and successful transition without any disruption to their workflow and cash flow. We don’t see any impact on payment cycle so far, no difference on the amount paid by payers to ICD-10 claims with equivalent ICD-9 claims with same procedure codes except a few codes. There is no dramatic changes on rejections and denials so far.

    iTech solutions will seamlessly support General Equivalence Mappings (GEMs), also known as crosswalks, for cross walking and to perform comparative analytics between claims carrying ICD-9 and ICD-10 codes in the future. For now, however, a free, simple, standalone crosswalk MS Excel tool to convert ICD-9-CM to ICD-10-CM codes and ICD-9-PCS to ICD-10-PCS codes and vice versa is available as a free download at Downloads.

    iTech’s expEDIum Solutions shall be supporting both ICD-9 and ICD-10 as long as it is needed.
